It is time for Arsenal to get revenge on Barcelona for their incessant tapping up of Cesc Fabregas! Yesterday we had another statement from a Barcelona player (Xavi) saying they couldn’t wait for Cesc to move to the Spanish giants, and today the Sun reports that Arsenal are chasing the “new Messi” from the Barcelona “B” team.
The 18 year-old winger Gai Assulin is an Israeli international, in fact he was the youngest ever when he played for his country at just 17 years of age. He has been likened to Messi not just because of his brilliant play down the wing, but also as he has the trademark long hair of his hero.
Assulin has got 18 months left on his contract at the Camp Nou, and it is being reported as refusing to sign a new contract, as he is being frustrated with his lack of chances in the European Champions first-team.
He proved his worth in last year’s “B” games by scoring 9 goals in 24 appearances, and Arsene Wenger is said to be keen to take him to the Emirates.
