Meet Our loanees as Jay Simpson Scores


Jay Simpson was amongst the scorers as QPR racked up a comprehensive 4-0 win over Preston at Loftus Road. A wonder-goal from Adel Taarabt was followed by a second-half penalty conversion from Akos Buzsaky. Simpson then made it three  with a sidefooted effort that went in off the post before Wayne Routledge added gloss to the scoreline late on. Simpson was replaced by Rowan Vine with 13 minutes remaining.

Henri Lansbury played the whole game as Watford beat Middlesbrough 1-0 thanks to a Tom Cleverley goal. Lansbury, playing in the centre of a midfield five, had several good shots saved and put in an impressive performance.

Gavin Hoyte played 90 minutes for Brighton as they lost 2-1 to Tranmere in League One. Goals from Gareth Edds and John Welsh put Tranmere ahead, but Brightion levelled via Glenn Murray, who was later sent off. Hoyte made several good interceptions on his third appearance for the Seagulls.

Pedro Botelho
was in action as Celta Vigo came from behind to draw 1-1 with Cartagena. Victor put Cartagena ahead from the penalty spot, but Abalo equalised for Celta, who had to play the last quarter of the game with ten men after Michu was sent off.

Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was an un-used sub as Blackpool beat Plymouth 2-0 thanks to goals from Pilgrims loanee Michael Seip and David Vaughan.

Havard Nordtveit was a sub as Nuremburg beat Hertha Berlin 3-0 in the Bundesliga.
