Arsenal’s three Championship-based loanees were all in midweek action last night, and all impressed…
Jay Simpson continued his hot scoring streak by finding the target in QPR’s 4-1 win over Reading. Simpson struck his fifth goal for the Hoops with a clinical finish from inside the six yard box. Akos Buzsaky, Rowan Vine and Patrick Agyemang were also on the scoresheet for QPR, who had Ben Watson sent off. Reading were also reduced to ten men following the dismissal of Ivar Ingimarsson for two bookable offences, both of which were fouls on Simpson, who recieved harsh treatment throughout before being replaced by Vine on 53 minutes.
Another impressive performer was Jay Emmanuel-Thomas played 90 minutes and set up a goal as Blackpool ran out 3-0 winners at home to Sheffield United.
Henri Lansbury played 89 minutes for Watford in their dramatic 1-1 draw with Ipswich at Portman Road. Lansbury, who has been used in all manner of positions by Hornets manager Malky Mackay, found himself operating just off the main striker last night and made several decent passes and delivered some deadly set-pieces. Ipswich took the lead through Gary McAuley but Nathan Ellington levelled in stoppage time to leave Roy Keane’s side rooted to the foot of the table.
